Panel Support/Notes

  • 1. MZX serial connections: The SPT supports two serial connections wit the MZX range of fire control panels. These allow for remote logging of event data and remote access to the panel using MZX Remote and WebWayOne RemoteManager. The SPT can be configured for either or both of these connections depending on the requirement.
  • 2. COM1-Printer: If both COM1 and COM2 are to be used then COM1 must be connected to the 2nd RS232 port, which is a module fitted to the AUX3 port of a Pro 2 or the AUX port of a Nano 2. If only COM1 is to be used then the RS232 module is not required and the connection can be made to the RS232 port on the main SPT as shown for COM2 in the diagrams. The printer port outputs event data from the panel for remote maintenance and supplementary alarm reporting. The SPT must be configured to match the connections made. The conductor colours shown in the diagrams are for the cable provided in the optional MZX cable kit.
  • The printer port uses the default settings in the fire panel.
  • 3. COM2-PC: COM2 must be connected to the RS232 port on the main SPT as shown in the diagrams. If only COM2 is to be used then the RS232 module is not. The PC port allows for the connection of the MZX Remote application via the alarm transmission system. This requires the WebWayOne RemoteManager application that provides the necessary interface for MZX Remote. The SPT must be configured to match the connections made. The conductor colours shown in the diagrams are for the cable provided in the optional MZX cable kit.
  • The PC port uses the default settings in the fire panel.
  • 4. The MZX panels have two inputs, one for the acknowledge and one for the fault signal. The acknowledge signal connects to the supervised input and the fault signal connects to the unsupervised input as shown in the diagrams below.
  • 5. Important note – The unsupervised input in the panel used for the SPT fault signal must be configured for ‘inverted’. This is to ensure that the fault state operates in a fail safe mode ie if the SPT fails then the input will go into a fault state. There are no indicators provided on the SPT for displaying these conditions. They must be displayed at the control panel.
